The Forest is a fascinating idea but is let down by boring pacing and lacks any memorable shocks.

Lights Out is a chillingly effective horror flick that is never less than entertaining.
Despite a weak script there are a few entertaining moments in this reboot with some nice visuals and an excellent music score. It is after all just a movie and is nothing more than harmless fun.

The Shallows is pretty much what you'd expect with a few thrilling moments that ratchet up the tension; it's let down by some unbelievable scenes though and we've seen it a million times before.
Stranger Things is everything I wanted it to be and more. The must see show of 2016.
The Boy doesn't exactly reinvent the genre but it has its moments and Lauren Cohan makes it worth sitting through.
