Decadent Evil II (2007) Full Moon Blu-ray Review

Verdict
2.5

Summary

Devoted fans of Full Moon (yes, I’m certain there are some out there because there are so many Full Moon movies to choose from) will appreciate this, while others will be bewildered and bored by it.

Plot:

Another vampire seeks to consume a quota of souls to become the supreme vampire.

Review:

Dex (Daniel Lennox) and his vampire girlfriend Sugar (Jill Michelle) drift around, looking for work after they helped to vanquish the queen of vampires, and they find work at a strip club, where – surprise! vampires work. An ancient vampire named Janos (Jon-Paul Gates) dwells nearby in a junkyard, where he waits for his minions at the strip club to bring him women or men, it doesn’t matter so long as they have a soul for him to devour. With Dex working as a janitor and Sugar as a stripper (and a very good one at that), they investigate the club, not realizing exactly what is going on or just who the vampires are. They propose an idea to each other: They will turn the corpse of their friend Ivan (played this time by Ricardo Gil) and make him a vampire to help them vanquish the king of the vampires before he becomes a supreme being after devouring 10,000 souls.

Sleazier and chintzier than the previous entry, Decadent Evil II pads out the running time (80 minutes flat) with endless strip tease acts by extras, and it has even less puppet stuff in it than the first one, using the homunculus character as a punch line, ending the film with yet another puppet rape just in case you thought the first one was either amusing or offensive. Devoted fans of Full Moon (yes, I’m certain there are some out there because there are so many Full Moon movies to choose from) will appreciate this, while others will be bewildered and bored by it.

Full Moon’s new Blu-ray of Decadent Evil II was just released alongside the first film, and the one good thing about it is that it’s presented in a sharp, widescreen high definition transfer. It comes with the trailer, a behind the scenes feature, auditions, and bonus trailers.
