Check Out the Studio Notes from Blade Runner

When I was younger I never liked the original Blade Runner; I always found it rather tedious and far too slow. As I’ve grown older however, I’ve really grown to appreciate it and with Blade Runner 2049 being every bit as visually jaw dropping I now adore it and both movies are some of my favourites of all time.

The philosophy of what it means to be human, fear of technology, how the replicants show more compassion and humanity than “real” people, Rutger Hauer’s sublime speech and the incredible music score and visuals make Blade Runner a movie that still holds relevance today.

What’s interesting are the studio notes from 1981 which you can read below and despite the movie having deeper philosophical meaning if you read number 14 one of the studio execs thought the movie needed “more tits”… fair enough.
