Brothers of the Wind (2015) Review

Verdict
4.5

Summary

An absolutely gorgeous nature-type film in the vein of Jean-Jacques Annaud’s films The Bear, Wings of Courage, and Two Brothers, Brothers of the Wind is a stunning achievement with its footage of eagles in peril.

Plot: In a world where it takes courage to fly, a young boy nurtures a baby eagle into adulthood. Searching for their place in the world, they bond over their desire to be free.

Review: In the wild, untamed country of the Alps, twin eagles are born on a mountain crag high, high up. The slightly younger and weaker bird – named Able – has an accident and falls from the nest, far, far below into the forest where a young boy named Lukas (Manuel Camacho) rescues it and takes it back to his cabin where he lives with his father. The friendly forester – Danzer (Jean Reno) – helps Lukas nurse the majestic bird back to health, and over the course of weeks and months, the bird is finally able to fly and go back and fight its brother Caine for the kingship of the land.
