The Grand Order of Divine Sweets (The GOoDS) is pleased to announce the opening of their Toronto bakery and café on December 12, 2019 and their Grand Opening event on Saturday, December 14th. Located in the quirky West Queen West neighbourhood, the extended Grandest of Openings will feature the 12 Days of GEEKmas. Each day introduces a new, themed special offer for bakery visitors that will delight and surprise. The December 14th event will feature cake samples, beverage samples, and Stormtrooper cosplayers.
Co-owned by award-winning cake designer and chocolatier, Samantha Lapointe and video game industry veteran, Meridith Braun, The GOoDS offers a variety of beautifully designed cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and fine chocolates – all with a uniquely geeky twist. From bite-sized galaxies to life-sized edible Star Wars® droids, cakes that hang from the ceiling, and wearable suits of chocolate armor, there is nothing that Master Designer, Samantha Lapointe won’t tackle.
“Who doesn’t want to eat a sweet fashioned after their favorite fandom? Fans are passionate about what they love and want to make their fandoms part of their everyday lives in fun interesting ways,” says The GOoDS co-owner Meridith Braun. “As fellow geeks, Sam and I want to answer that demand by offering creative delicious treats in a quirky, cozy environment to help everyone feed their fandoms.”
Samantha Lapointe is no stranger to elevated cake design and grand chocolatier creation as the former owner of famed Cakes Cove. She took all she knows about the business and partnered with Meridith Braun who spent 20 years in the video game industry and most recently built a global community of nearly 50 million players around the hit video game, Warframe®. Together they want to create a truly personalized, inclusive, and local experience. Choosing to partner with local brands where possible, like Sloane Teas and Deadly Grounds Coffee, The GOoDS offers the highest quality sweets with ethically sourced ingredients.
