Summary

Drop is an entertaining thriller with a great cast and plenty of tension fueled moments to have you on the edge of your seat.

Plot: A widowed mother’s first date in years takes a terrifying turn when she’s bombarded with anonymous threatening messages on her phone during their upscale dinner, leaving her questioning if her charming date is behind the harassment.

Review: Having seen the trailer for Drop, I was certainly curious as I’ve enjoyed the director’s previous films so went in hoping for a fun one.

Well, I can not only say that this was Christopher Landon’s best film, but also one of my favorite thrillers to have come out in years.

Meghann Fahy plays a likable and sympathetic lead while Brandon Sklenar also shines as her date and both have great chemistry throughout the film.

The story is fairly solid as there are plenty of twists that keep you engaged without feeling too convoluted.

However, the real standout of this film is Landon’s direction which showcases how much he’s grown as a filmmaker as he takes inspiration from directors like Alfred Hitchcock using some unique camera angles during certain scenes.

Overall, Drop is an entertaining thriller that boasts a great cast, is well-directed and features a simple but effective story.
