Stake Land Getting a Sequel

Stake Land was an under the radar yet awesome horror flick from 2010 which has now spawned a sequel. According to EW “It was announced Tuesday that shooting has wrapped on The Stakelander, the up-until-now hush-hush sequel to 2010’s vampire-apocalypse film, Stake Land. The film finds Stake Land stars Nick Damici and Connor Paolo reprising their roles as Mister and Martin. The Stakelander is set several years after the events of the first film and is directed by Dan Berk and Robert Olsen, who made last year’s thriller, Body. The sequel is based on a screenplay by Damici, who cowrote Stake Land with that film’s director, Jim Mickle.

The Stakelander tracks Paolo’s Martin as he finds himself alone in the badlands of America after his home is destroyed with only a distant memory of his vampire-hunting mentor, Mister, to guide him. Roaming the wilderness of a steadily decaying country, Martin goes in search of the one man who can help him get revenge.”

Count me in; this has got me in the mood to dig out my Blu-ray and watch the original again.
