Alex Proyas posted this short film on his Facebook page today so I thought I would share it around as it’s worth a watch.

Proyas was nominated for a Golden Palm award at the 1994 Cannes Film Festival, for his short film, Book of Dreams: ‘Welcome to Crateland’

In this first of the two Book of Dreams shorts, a puzzled young woman called Mona, who has certain femme fatale qualities to her, retells a surreal dream she recently had. She’s lying in her bed in her negligee, when a macabre grinning older man with a gun appears and tells her to enter a crate that appears in the room. With her inside, the crate is placed on a nightmarish assembly line of sorts that carries countless crates with similar cargo to their doom – a boiling pot-like structure. She’s not afraid for some reason, but still wants to find a way out before the crate reaches its destination. It turns out that there’s an infinite amount of space inside the crate she’s in, so she crawls around the crate exploring it. She has a couple of odd encounters there, including one with the grinning man, who reappears to ask her to stay, claiming that all her wishes will come true there, but she isn’t buying it.

I started The Action Elite a few years ago; it's grown from strength to strength but now seems like the right time to expand. I've always loved different movie genres like horror, sci-fi and dramas so you'll see a wide range of different movies covered here.
