Dwayne Johnson Needs to Play a True Villain!

I like Dwayne Johnson; I think he comes across as a genuinely decent guy and a good person. His TV show Wake Up Call is an inspiration and he’s been in some fun movies too.

He has made a name for himself as one of the biggest action stars on the planet and the interesting thing is he’s actually a decent actor too. He has tried his hand at various roles including family fare, action, comedy and crime dramas.

The movie Doom didn’t exactly set the world alight but the one thing I really enjoyed about it is that we got a hint at seeing what Johnson would be like as a villain and the answer is pretty damn scary.

Personally I desperately want him to play a bad guy and as discussed before, The Expendables 4 really would be the perfect choice. I want him to play an arrogant psychopath who kills people without mercy.

Have him face off against several of the cast in the finale but he’s just too strong for them and has a genuine sense of threat.

Remember when Johnson was asked last year if he’d join the franchise? He said “If you’re asking if I would consider being in the ‘Expendables’ franchise – then the answer is yes. BUT… I don’t want to be on their team and be buddies with them. F*ck that noise. I want to hunt every single one of them down and tell them to ‘send your soul to heaven cause your ass is mine.’”

Now THAT is the Dwayne Johnson I would love to see; playing a bad guy is what established Arnold Schwarzenegger as one of the all-time great action stars in 1984’s Terminator and I’d love for Johnson to go this route too. Hell, even have him play a Terminator; there was a rumour that he was going to be in Terminator: Genisys but sadly that never materialized which is a shame as maybe the film would have looked better than it does.

I know he’s going to be playing Black Adam in 2019’s Shazam but he’s been described as an “anti-hero balance of ruthless rip your throat out with wonderful charm”. Can’t we just have rip your throat out ruthlessness? It’s going to be a PG-13 family friendly movie anyway which I’m not really interested in; I would rather he’s something more real and having him as the bad guy could put The Expendables series back on track after the failure of Part 3.
