Han Solo Movie Loses Directors. Can We Cancel it Now?

As you’ve all heard by now the upcoming Star Wars spin-off Han Solo movie lost its directors yesterday.

In case you missed it according to THR Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are no longer directing the Han Solo Star Wars spinoff.

“Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are talented filmmakers who have assembled an incredible cast and crew, but it’s become clear that we had different creative visions on this film, and we’ve decided to part ways. A new director will be announced soon,” Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm, said Tuesday in a statement.

“Unfortunately, our vision and process weren’t aligned with our partners on this project,” a statement from Lord and Miller read. “We normally aren’t fans of the phrase ‘creative differences’ but for once this cliché is true. We are really proud of the amazing and world-class work of our cast and crew.”

So how about we just cancel this frankly awful idea of a film? I don’t know anybody who actually thinks this is a good idea and I am a massive Star Wars fan. There seems to be too much of a rush to have a new movie out every year which really isn’t necessary. Take your time, come up with decent story ideas and take it from there.

As much as I’ve enjoyed The Force Awakens and Rogue One I’d be far more interested in new stories rather than trying to relive the original movies. I would love a Darth Bane movie or just something we haven’t seen before like maybe a story about who discovered the Force and created the Jedi/Sith. There are plenty of cool ideas you could lift from the Expanded Universe which could make for great movies.

I still want a Chirrut Imwe spin-off too FYI.
